Dodged a bullet on Acacia EDV shareholders were very lucky that there was no merger with Acacia Mining.
(I was about to sell my shares on the news).
I am not sure why there is no discussion of this here, since the fact that EDV management was even contemplating a merger with this company is concerning.
A few people were killed at a mine owned by Tahoe Resources and look at what happened in the end (Note: Tahoe took over Lakeshore Gold and Rio Alto). At Acacia's mine in Tanzania 65 have been killed in violence having to do with the mining operations. It is no wonder that Barrick wanted to sell off this part of its operations.

Share performance for Acacia has been horrid:

Note to management: less jurisdictional risk please!
