Years of research has gone into laser sintered 3D printed parts, to be used for critical applications such as aircraft and aircraft engines etc.
GE is aiming at this market where components are very expensive and very high quality accurate dimensions and high purity material.
It not likely that the process described would ever meet the stringent requirements for aerospace applications, nothing to worry about in my opinion.
