RE:RE:RE:SanctionsAlthough that piece is from 2014, I suppose the same considerations apply.

On the other hand the new sanctions are in addition to any that already apply, so some new categories will be included. It only affects the USA of course but then the US is the biggest consumer of higher class diamonds.

Sanctions are often easily circumvented but the situation for diamonds is a little different since all stones have to be accompanied by a Kimberly Process certificate.

This was introduced to make so-called  'blood diamonds' more difficult to sell. Since Alrosa produces about 30% of the world's production it won't be easy to get around the fact that the certificates have to indicate where the stones come from.
