@Bullshat, two quick questions:  
 
One:
You said: "Tradingeconomics shows is futures prices.  LME chart is cash prices. ".
However, LME allows you to query ALL of them, and they all plummeted, while on TradingEconomics it was only a small 1500K drop or so.   
     -Cash Buyer                              50K
     -Cash Buyer and Settlement     50.5K
     -3 Month buyer                          50K
     -3 Month Seller                          50.5K
     -15 Month Buyer                        49.260K
     -15 Month Seller                        50.260K
This is Apples to Apples, N'est-ce pas?
 
Two: 
Why do we think the precipitous drop was due to that one story.  Did folks just wake up Thursday, see the loss, then look at the headlines? Or is there any actual real causal rational? I looked and saw no references to such. 
 
Just curious.  It is less interesting from Cobalt's standpoint actually, and more of a Data science question...
