RE:RE:RE:RE:Energy excluding nuclear:Lithium will displace oil/gasolineWhat you say is true profittaker if it was only Tesla. But what Tesla has done is created the market for electric cars. Once Ford, GM and Toyota get into this game big time those small numbers will rapidly increase and become mainstream. Already Volvo (owned by the Chinese) has said it will make its last all gasoline vehicle in 2020.
I like looking back in history to see what people said about the new developments of the time. Many opf the same arguments were made about ICE's as are being made about electric cars. At that time the few cars that were made were hand built and people who made buggies argued that it would take many years for the "horseless carriages" to displace horses. The along comes Henry Ford the inventor of mass production and changed the entire game. In just 10 short years cars had all but replaced horses.
You could have made the same argument about mobile phones 20 years ago but in the 10 years or so since Apple introduced the iphone they have made and sold 190 phones PER SECOND every minute of every day since they brought it out.
Always dangerous to play with numbers and make predictions based on the past. They are almost always wrong. Now Apple (I am a very happy investor in that Company btw) has enough cash stashed away overseas to buy Ford (market cap 60 billion) THREE TIMES and still have a bit left over.
Indee if Mr Trump allows ofshore money to flow back into the US I can see Apple buying Ford or GM so they have the mass production capacity for their driverless electric vehicles.
Interestinmg times and great posts.
