RE:RE:RE:An Open Letter to the Torstar Voting TrustHi Retired,
You may very well be right, but a fire can start with a single spark and perhaps some of this information and other greivances will finally percolate through to the Voting Trust.
It must burn them that Honderich picks up $275,000 a year to be non-executive chairman and that stipend hasn't been cut, unlike their dividend income. It has been increased from $265,000, while their dividends were cut by 86.5%.
Revenues have been more than halved on his watch, and so one would question why their isn't a relationship with his compensation. The dividend is related to financial performance - why they might ask isn't his compensation?
All of this continued carnage will lead to some change. A story in The Globe might draw more attention to the situation, but Honderich seems to hold a pernicious spell over the Voting Trust members.
It is painful for all to see the stock price in this territory, but when you experience hundreds of millions evaporate it is beyond painful for the Voting Trust family members. They will at some point rise up from their bleak situation and take control of the remnants of their diminished fortune.
