RE:Delivery of services to at home seniors.Good post. Sure could have used that dispensing machine while my mother had pancreatic cancer the last year of her life. And was in her own home. Brought her to emerg a couple times. Was overmedicating . Most my patients I saw over my 30 plus years in my profession were of the senior age group. The amount of medications they were taking always astounded me. Most of them , 99 per cent lived in their own homes. I would not be surprised if OHIP here in Ontario kicked in for the price of the machine. One trip to emerg as the result of overmedicating would pay for the machine and the per month payment. After doing my dd with Centric the past year, I felt that this was a very progressive healthcare company that was unique, and could blossom as our medicare system trys to find ways to cut costs. This newest venture confirms why I am a shareholder. Excited to see how this plays out over the next several years. For those that think that we do not have any aspect of the healthcare system presently that is not universal healthcare here in Canada, one only has to look at dental, optometry, physiotherapy and chiropractic, as a start.
