Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Another great move by aphriaBuddingInvestor, I agree that rec market will be legalized before July 1, 2018.  We seem to be on the same page that a complete roll out will take some time for provinces to implement.  Even if they go with a mail order system, volumes will be lower until all provinces are clicking on all cyclinders.

By way of example, lets assume Ontario selects a LCBO model for one of its distribution channels.  I can see this type of model taking at least one year minimum to implement.  The province would need to identify and secure locations.  Do they lease or buy?  Build vs renovate? Train staff etc...  then you would need to deal with municpal bylaws, zoning etc at the municpal level.  All of this would take time.  My point being was that when Rec is introduced it will fit nicely with Aphria's timeline, even though I suspect Aphria miscalulated the initial rollout date.

BuddingInvestor wrote: Monte I have a different view of how rec rolls out. I think it will be before July. How much setting up needs to be done if it begins as mail order? Trudeau has already stated that provinces not ready for rec will use the mail order system. In my opinion current plans of expansion are going to be nowhere near close to supplying the rec market. All LP need to grow faster. Demand will severely outdo supply in my view. It sure is fun to discuss this historic event.
