Stakes ? $1K, $5K, $10K ? Anything in that range I'll gladly put on the table ... on a clear bet that TV won't drop back to $1.05 for the duration of the rest of 2017. Put your $ where your mouth is and bring it grasshopper ...

opinions are like you know what ... everyone has one. In the context of stocks, those whose opinions are grounded in good research about both short and long term trends and fundamentals plus backed by experience investing in a particular industry are the informed opinions you want to listen to. Most analysts, and certainly most day traders who do nothing but chart short term trends looking for 5%, do NOT fall into this category.

I have nothing against day trading a portion of any given stock position for short term profit and share accumulation of something you like, particularly on volatile resource stocks. While your waiting for the BIG news event or commodity market shift.  Nor anything against shorting a given stock to make big wins ... Making $ is making $, do it any way you can and these are good strategies ... at the right times.

My point for the past week+ on this board has been that fundmentals indicate that this is the exact WRONG time to be playing those games with any significant portion of your TV holdings. You do so at your at your own peril.

The longer term point is that those strategies are really not the path to long term wealth. Buying good companies on the cheap during depressed times for that industry and then holding is. While I've made some $ with short term moves over the years ... all my biggest wins have been via "value investing" in the buy cheap and hold until the tide turns manner. The young or ADT crowd just doesn't have the patience and discipline for this approach though.

Can't help but notice that transam response to this post where he took the $1k option has been deleted ... Lol. Knew i should have taken a screen shot of that . The welcher ....
