That is true. Presently rated 200 TPD expandable to 4. Kinross buckhorn had a target of only 900 under prime conditions. The tailings is good for 600,000T
The greenwood location is already zoned and envrionmentaly permitted as a mill location. It is a far less stretch to get government and the envrionmental board, to permit an increase in production size. Than it is to grant the Ok for a totaly new operation.
New operations in BC from discovery on average take 15 to 18 years. If Kinross exploration finds ore on their claims, and intends to mine it. Taking out GOM is a no brainer. The tailings facility walls can simply be raised and the mill production increased. Takes two to three years to build a mill. The other ten to twelve in BC is spent on studies and permitting at a cost of millions.
Fraser institute rates BC for mining as mineral rich, politically safe, but one of the least minng friendly in Canada. No where near as easy to do business as Saskatchewan Ontario or Qubec
The province contains a bastion of tree huggers.
