Kelowna, BC (FSCwire) - TOTAL TELCOM INC. (TSX Venture: TTZ) announced today its wholly owned subsidiary ROM Communications Inc. will showcase 400 new proprietary “AlerTraX” devices at the Vegas to Reno 850 km off-road Race on August 18, 2017. Each vehicle, ATV or Motorcycle will be required to rent an AlerTraX to help prevent collisions through radio link hazard beacons, display & monitor speed zones, verify check points, satellite tracking and provide off class passing requests.
AlerTraX was designed and built by ROM using in-house proprietary and intellectual property. The device weighs 0.5 kilos and features a spread spectrum meshed radio, GPS & Glonass satellite receivers and super bright addressable LEDs. Built-in accelerometers automatically activate hazard notifications for impacts and rollovers resulting in race vehicles being stopped or disabled on the course. The company anticipates a need for this product as a standalone device or used in conjunction with other in-house racing services.
ROM is currently negotiating with a Russian off-road racing association and has agreed to provide (sell) 5 -10 AlerTraX devices and provide mapping services for an evaluation race in September. If successful, a potential one-time $100,000 hardware sale and an ongoing $10,000 per race support fee has been agreed to.
Company CEO, Neil Magrath, stated "Off road racing is a dangerous sport with high speeds, reduced visibility and ever-changing course conditions. The Racing community has challenged ROM to help make the sport safer through applied technology and we have responded.”
