Timmins: Nearology Hi All, This is another interesting map. One can see that the "explorers and minors" are concentrating their claims along the PDFZ and other major faults in the area.

Basically, there are a lot of gold showing in the entire surroundings of Radio Hill, lots of gold bearing quartz/carbonate veins systems with wide range of gold concentrations all around.

"Gold is mainly confined to the quartz-carbonate vein networks but may also be present in significant amounts within iron-rich sulphidized wall rock. Greenstone-hosted quartz-carbonate vein deposits are distributed along major compressional to transpressional crustal-scale fault zones in deformed greenstone terranes of all ages, but are more abundant and significant, in terms of total gold content, in Archean terranes."
"As outlined by Poulsen and Robert (1989), geometric ore shoots are controlled by the intersection of a given structure (i.e., a fault, a shear zone, or a vein) with a favourable lithological unit, such as a competent gabbroic sill, a dyke, an iron formation, or a particularly reactive rock. The geometric ore shoot will be parallel to the line of intersection."
