RE:RE:RE:Enough is EnoughWillfull impaired driving should never be condoned and it is proven that excessive alcohol impairs. But cannabis and other prescription drugs have not had the extensive testing to determine consumption levels that will cause impairment. In many cases certain prescription drugs will definitely impair on first use but with regular dosage the mind and body adapts. And when doctors prescribe these drugs and they are not pulling the patient's drivers licience, then there is the expectation that there will be drivers on the road with these drugs in their bloodstream. Now this topic needs to continue to be debated, researched and documented and there are no magic solutions. It will not be resolved by 01/07.2018 and regardless the laws of impaired driving will evolve with more knowledge and statistics. Frankly now adays I am more concerned about texting and driving. Statistally 1 in 4 accidents are caused by texting drivers and I personally have had to take evasive action numerous times to above being hit or keeping my distance from a texting driver. This is an area where I wish the police would enforce stronger.
