You would be right if the circumstances were the same as, let's say, the market crash of 1987.  Back then the high-flying sr and intermediate gold stox had steep losses to cover margin requirements.  Not so much, if at all, for the vastly under-valued, quality jr golds, or at least the ones I held at the time.  I can't even remember what I owned back then but I do recall seeing just a further widening between the best bid/ask with day after day of no trading.

Surprisingly, even gold dipped back in the 1987 crash, but recovered to close up by late november.  And this is the big difference.  You see, bo polny's forecast has gold and silver soaring, NOT falling.  This being the case, and if polny's forecast comes to fruition, I would make the argument that:
a) although you could see an initial dip in the sr and mid-tier golds to satisfy margin calls, I think the dip would be relatively minor and very short-lived;
b) most likely there would be a world-wide major move into all quality gold stox (like alexandria), which would result in substantially higher stock prices.

So we'll see what happens.   Jmvho.
