From Value Investor -- TodayEast West Petroleum (EW.V, EWPMF): We recommended it at C$0.125 (Toronto) in May 2017 and the recommended maximum buy price is C$0.13 (Toronto), as shown in the PP#79 here. The key reason behind our recommendation was the drilling results from the first well in Romania. In our opinion, this catalyst would determine the company's performance in the short term. We also noted that: " NIS should have announced the drilling results from Romania by the end of March 2017. Therefore, this is a 2 months delay and we believe that this is not an indicator of a dry well. Although it's premature to say something about the commerciality of the first well in Romania, we consider this significant delay to be an indicator that either NIS has found something promising in the 2+3 aforementioned zones (primary, secondary) or NIS has been testing more zones than originally planned thanks to encouraging signs during the drilling process." The company announced yesterday the initial drilling results from the first well in Romania as quoted below: " VANCOUVER, Sept. 20 2017 /CNW/ - East West Petroleum Corp. Mr. David Sidoo, President and CEO, is pleased to announce that the Company's joint venture partner and operatior has reported that testing of multiple intervals on the first well in EX-7 Periam block, in the Pannonian Basin of Western Romania has been completed with encouraging results for oil and natural gas. The operator has advised that the initial results obtained during workover and testing will be analysed in NIS Scientific Center, which will decide if the well is to be declared commercial and what would be the next steps to follow. NIS will be funding 100% and fully carrying East West through the minimum work program of the exploration phase in return for earning an 85% interest in the blocks. Mr. David Sidoo comments, "We are pleased to have results from our first JV well showing oil and gas indications. NIS was able to drill this conventional well with no environmental issues and strong community relations. We are pleased to be partnered with a company of this caliber. We want to thank our shareholders for their patience and look forward to sharing additional results as they come in."
