Observation...possibly noteworthy.Greetings comrades,
I usually enter a subway/metro/train station in Toronto in the mornings.
Almost without fail there would be someone at the front of the station handing
out the free Metro papers (produced by Torstar).
As you know, Torstar did not renew the contract with the TTC to have the Metro available *inside* the stations where people could just grab one and go. A competing Postmedia product got the contract instead. Torstar's work-around (pretty clever) was to employ someone to stand in front of each station (presumably) in Toronto to hand out the papers before people got into the stations and were tempted by the competition.
Now, the weird thing is that there is no one handing out Torstar's Metro in front of the subway! Maybe they can't find anyone to do the job? This seems unlikely as several months have gone by.
And even when no one was there, the stack of Metro's would still be by the station, and commuters would sort of take one even if there was no one there to hand them out.
So, the question is what is going on? Myabe Torstar is going to get the contract back?
