2017 Tipping Point for Electric Vehicleshttps://www.ft.com/content/5c6ac1e4-14bd-3de9-ae13-dc0c364ab582
  • BHP, a producer of copper, oil, nickel, iron ore and coal, expects electric vehicles to grow to 140m in 2035, around 8 per cent of the global car fleet.

  • Copper will be the one commodity that will see an immediate impact in the next 15 years, due to its use in wiring, Mr Balhuizen said. An electric car uses 80 kilos of copper compared to 20 for a petrol or diesel car, he said. (This is 4x more Copper)
