RE:Market Call ..Benj2bewild,
I listened to the entire segment, and my take aways were that Benj is a contrarian investor that does careful risk analysis on his stock picks. He doesn't like funds because of the overhead charges.
He likes individual stocks and one of the ones he mentioned was Alacer Gold, which he bought when it was debt free. He likes it less now that ASR.TO has run up a debt to fund the construction of a new process plant, but continues to hold the stock as long as it meets its targets.
Benj likes companies that have been in business at least 10 years, and companies with actual revenues from operations. Orvana, having been listed for 60 years on the TSX, and having two producing gold mines in operation, meets Benj's investment criteria. Unlike ASR, ORV has minimal debt relative to its gold production. So my conclusion after listening to this very informative segment is that Benj remains invested in ORV.
So for contrarian investors, now is the time to add to your positions!
