President Kh.Battulga backs U.Khurelsukh's appointment as next PM

Ulaanbaatar / On September 27, President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga gave to Parliament Speaker M.Enkhbold a letter on reply to a request on appointing the next Prime Minister. It was conveyed by Z.Enkhbold, Chief of the Presidential Office.

The President’s letter states, “As a result of dismissal of the Government formed after the 2016 parliamentary elections, Mongolian People’s Party’s U.Khurelsukh has been nominated for the Prime Minister’s post and it was submitted to the President on September 27, 2017.

According to his authority specified on the provision 1.2 of the Constitution’s article 33, I hereby submit a request on appointing U.Khurelsukh as the Prime Minister to Parliament. I request the State Great Khural to urgently discuss U.Khurelsukh’s appointment as the Prime Minister, and to make a relevant decision,”
