RE:GM is ready to make gas and diesel cars a thing of the past
There's lots of copper in standard gasoline cars, beginning with the starter motor and alternator. And let's not forget that aluminum wiring is a substitute for copper if the price of copper gets too high.
As far as GM goes they produce what, one whole electric car, the Bolt? Last I heard that factory was still shutdown because nobody's buying the Bolt. It's a fine car apparently but nobody sees GM as an electric car company. A problem with all these companies jumping into this is that they're trying to build electric cars. Tesla is trying to build batteries and cars. That potentially gives them a huge advantage especially if they can move battery technology forward and drive battery costs down.
