Hope for a New Controlling PartnerThe best Alaskans can hope for is NDM to give full control of the project to a real mining company to move this potential project ahead in a meaningful manner. NDM’s team is comprised of the following key people:
Collier-a former federal DOI attorney with no mining experience. Doesn't realize NEPA will assess a larger mine with statements made to date and as part of the foreseeable future cumulative impact assessment. Believe it or not you want EPA to assist and continued statements are not favorable for a working relationship.
Theissen-an accountant with no practical mining experience.
Jenkins-has he ever been directly responsible for permitting a major US mine? Can’t identify one.
Ralston-former federal DoD with no mining experience. Political eye candy.
Salt-former federal Corps with no practical mining experience. Political eye candy.
HDR-weak. 3-years to permit, not.
HDI-contract miners, not a mining company.
What is needed is an seasoned mining company(s) who can make intellegent decisions based on information and understand economics, public relations strategy and regulatory requirements.
