Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Aphria lowest cost producer.. Maricann "hold my beer"When we first started talking about this on the WEED board you couldn't get past that indoor and outdoor aren't cultivars (I used the word cultivars at that point, you're right in that I never said cultivars = strains). I have never claimed that indoors doesn't offer you the most control over growth, you're free to go back through my posts and prove me wrong on that one ;)

As I said, before we couldn't get past that indoor and outdoor is a method of growth and has nothing to do with the strain of the plant itself. Just to clarify the strain/cultivar terminology, we usually use strains when referring to microorganisms, different strains of yeast for example. When talking about plants we use the word cultivar, you talk about different cultivars of corn, not different strains of corn. Someone appropriated the term strain specifically for marijuana at some point and it has stuck.

If you think our discussion has been pointless you're undervaluing knowledge. You are now more knowledgeable on the topic than you were yesterday, I consider that to be very valuable. People can take away my money, my personal possessions, my family and my friends, but they'll have to lobotomize me to take away what I've learned.

I don't know anything about Merican, I might look at their financial statements at some point.

So I wasn't wrong in my statement that indoor has more control allowing you to grow healthier stronger plants but you're saying it's only select strains that require that amount of control to reach optimal health/strength/potency w/e. So in aphria case they choose not to grow the strains that require that amount of control. Interesting. I would think the more control you have over the inputs and environment of any strain would lead to optimization of the strain but I guess the argument you would say is with a "non retard" strain the difference would be so minimal it wouldnt be worth the overhead of the indoor facility? That makes sense... why wouldn't you just say that the first time this came up on the t.weed board instead of trying to misrepresent what I was saying. You clearly know more on the subject but generally I'm right in saying indoor has more control. Now id say that these "retard" strains are what the current rec market wants but i wouldnt discount any of the major lp's breading programs. Aph breeding program could produce a strain as desirable as "purple kush" and other well known "retard" strains, I don't dought that. I hope you realize our back and forth was kind of pointless, informative!, but pointless because I was suggesting people look at maricann, another greenhouse! Vic mentioned maricann in the podcast right after talking about tweed farms and supreme. He said they are hi tech but wouldn't go any further. So I'd ask you what does aph have that Mari doesn't? Aph has American exposure but Mari has German exposure in a significant way. Mari is just finishing it's 217,000 sqft greenhouse and starting the next 300,000 sqft aph just finished 45,000 bringing it to 100,000 sqft vs Mari 217,000 sqft online November... Aph is only now starting a 200,000 sqft. While mari is starting another 300,000 sqft. Mari total phase 2 complete 517,000 aph phase 3 300,000 sqft. Mari will have more operational grow space by November! Same high quality dutch greenhouses.... similar co generation power plant, same rain water collection plus ability to pull 60,000 liters a day for free from water table..... all aph has tgat mari doesnt is a few q's of financial. Financial that mean nothing come rec because their will be supply constraints so who ever can produce the most with the best margins vs their market cap will come out on top in financials and that's Mari.... It's like buying aph at a 110mm share float 90mm now 110 once financing closes. The only thing it lacks is exposure to retail investor and the hype, patients and current revs that go with being in the top 3 talked about lp's....
