RE:RE:RE:The Wonder List on CNN tonight at 9pm eastern timeCould be wrong, but it looks like Wier's guest is actually talking about Patagonia.
Extreme enviromentalists are often nuts, but seeing how NDM is moving forward is a practical way to establish a mine, be respectful and develop in a responsible manner.
In a Utopian World, no one would have to ever dig holes in the earth, cut trees and destroy natural habitat. We don't live in a Utopian World. Copper doesn't just show up in a truck to make wire or pipe to build a house, and it's been some time since we've moved out of the caves.
A true enviromentalist should live in a cave and let the rest of us know how it goes.
If rather then fighting Pebble, all stakeholders sat down and ensured a practical plan is taken into account for all aspects of development. The result would most likely be a mining company that creates jobs, rehabilitates the area, is a good corporate citizen, and good neighbour. This resource is too big to ignore, and it's not going to disappear. Enviromentalists should stop paying lawyers and forcing companies to spend money on lawyers. Spend money on designing mines with the lowest impact. Feed Educate and Employee Alaskans, a much better group to support that the lawyers.
I live in Hamilton, Ontario, an expressway was planned decades ago, and enviromentalists sat in trees with buckets of cr@p and urine to throw on Police and contractors, (I'm a firefighter and I was there to see it first hand) the plan was delayed, money was spent on lawyers the project was fought, delayed, and in the end, it was built. A lesson for enviromentalists!
NDM will be built, GLTA NDM Longs!!!
