RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:whats wrong with EMC?No reason to believe they haven’t started construction on their Pharma facility just because they haven’t sent out a press release about it. If you haven’t noticed these guys aren’t in the habit of sending out a press release every time they think about possibly making a move on something at some undisclosed time in the future. They didn’t even send out a press release about commencing production in the new phase 2 expansion. These guys aren’t interested in pumping their stock up because they don’t need to do any equity financing in the near future or cash out the stock options like most of the other guys. They are just quietly going about their work and when the have something really substantial to tell us they do.
As far as their lack of urgency on expanding their grow operations, I think this explains their strategy:
“Emblem believes that the Canadian medical cannabis market is about to experience fundamental change. Emblem expects that the percentage of medical authorizations filled through dried flower sales will steadily decline and be replaced by other cannabis medical products. Emblem also expects that Health Canada will approve more advanced cannabis dosage formats that will eventually displace most simple cannabis oils. In response to these expectations, Emblem is devoting considerable resources to the development and regulatory approval of advanced formulations of cannabis medication.
Emblem expects to introduce a variety of cannabis oils starting in September 2017, subject to receipt of all necessary approvals from Health Canada, and to introduce measured dose, oil filled capsules by year end. Health Canada performed an inspection on June 28 with respect to granting a license to sell oils and Emblem’s application is currently being reviewed by Health Canada’s Office of Medical Cannabis. Emblem intends to submit a number of more advanced formulations of cannabis medication to Health Canada for approval during 2018.
Emblem commenced extraction activities in December 2016 and expects to be in a position to sell cannabis oil products by September 2017, subject to receipt of all necessary approvals from Health Canada. Emblem expects to be able to produce about 5,000 bottles per month of various cannabis oils by November 2017. Emblem plans to begin installing production lines in October 2017 that will allow it to produce capsules containing cannabis oils and, subject to Health Canada approval, begin selling oil filled capsules by January 2018. Capsules will be an advancement in dosage format as each capsule will contain a measured dose and therefore allow physicians and patients to titrate the medication. Emblem expects that oil filled capsules will, to some extent displace simple oils, but that in the aggregate, capsules will be accretive to the total cannabis oils markets.”
