RE:RE:RE:Tweed Abd DNA Genetics Renew And ExpandIf the DNA genetics guys are abusing these scientific terms to try any lend themselves credibility, we're talking about two different things. If they're actually sequencing and phenotyping cannabis they're full of BS. Either way, they’re full of BS, either in terms of how they present themselves by misappropriating scientific terminology or in their phenotyping methodology. Take your pick for how they're deceiving you.
Also love it when people have ‘meaningful’ awards in a space no legitimate scientist or breeder is allowed to operate in. Might as well claim you’re the fastest 40-42-year-old white male from Wisconsin between 5’4”-5’6”. The competition can’t be fair when you are excluding most of the world from participating.

CytochromeP wrote: Pretty sure this is BS because you need to sequence the genomes of highly distinct cultivars to identify all single nucleotide polymorphisms. At best, they do transcriptome sequencing, assemble it, do differential gene expression analysis, then say 'good nuff'. And people buy it 'cuz science', without ever asking to see said data. Their website is shockingly lacking in any of the scientific details. Sure, they can phenotype with this data to a degree, that will not give you any useful breading information because cannabis is a complex plant non-model organism. Good luck getting anything beyond observing if cannabinoid biosynthetic genes being upregulated. The funny thing is that analysing the cannabinoid content gives you basically the same ‘breeding information’ at a fraction of the cost. Love the ‘cuz science’ mentality.
