The vast majority of the players Stars lost after eliminating the Supernova loyalty program were low limit daily grinders playing 6-8-10-12+ tables at a time just for the rake back. Not only did this artificially inflate the traffic on their site it was costing them millions to retain these types of players with very little to no return for Stars.

Its estimated they lost 2-5k of those grinders since removing Supernova , but in reality it was a lot more bc they were playing multiple tables accounting for a loss of anywhere from 10-40k players which they were very happily pleased they left for other sites. 

Also, these grinders were not good for business bc Stars couldn't cross sell to them. They were only there to grind out the benefits of playing multiple tables, hardly any of them played their casino.

In the end, having these players leave is a net positive for Stars.
