An ambitious project and unpublished services that cross the national territory
The Changing Diabetes® Mobile Clinic offers the general public (over the age of 35) free screening and allows people with diabetes to receive free health exams to identify the major complications associated with diabetes (retinal, renal) , neurological and cardiovascular). In this context, awareness and education activities are also organized.
The village associated with the mobile clinic "Changing Diabetes®" equipped with medical equipment, furrowed fourteen Algerian wilayas (Blida, El Oued, Oran, Algiers, Adrar, Tiaret, Jijel, Djelfa, Relizane, Skikda, BBA, Biskra, Batna , Tlemcen and Bejaia) from November 2011 to June 2015 with an average of 10 days per wilaya. Each person meeting the eligibility criteria for screening, namely: not known diabetic, aged 35 years and over and voluntary to benefit from a clinical evaluation including a measurement of blood pressure, weight, height, waist circumference, random capillary blood glucose and HbA1c on capillary blood.
Since the launch of the mobile clinic "Changing Diabetes®" in Algeria:
• More than 110,000 visitors visited the village "Changing Diabetes®".
• 35,000 people were screened for HbA1c.
• 30,000 patients with diabetes benefited from a full 360 ° examination.
• More than 60,000 people educated about diabetes.
