For all the hype in the lithium space...Tiny Aberdeen has quietly assembled a very formidable portfolio of lithium and copper assets, based on the thesis that these will be important materials for the lithium-ion battery. Despite the upward pressure in the share price, the company is still heavily undervalued.
I will admit, I, like Ceetong (what a surprise) was skeptical of them liquidating the initial 8 million LIX shares. However, a year later, while they still have exposure to Lithium-X, the company doesn't live/die based on that one project, which is precisely why those who bought the company for that reason were shrewd to do so, and I think will be rewarded in the near-term. Both Fura Gems and Trigon Metals (smaller but important holdings) have reported positive developments, meaning further appreciation and diversity for our portfolio. On top of that, Aberdeen also holds a meaningful stake in a hard-rock lithium project (Desert Lion), that is undertaking an IPO and could be in production before the end of the year. If Desert Lion can execute in the timeframe advertised, this company will see massive interest by going public, and may very well be sought-after as an acquisition target by a major or mid-tier looking to boost short-term production while they ramp up larger projects.
For those (extremely patient) longs out there, I've been a long-time shareholder of the company and can't remember a time where things have been positioned so favorably for us. While no one knows the future, I believe things are really good on the horizon for Aberdeen shareholders. GLTA
