Eskay Mining Corp (TSX-V: ESK) is a TSX Venture Exchange listed company, headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. Eskay is an exploration company focused on the exploration and development of precious and base metals in British Columbia in a highly prolific, poly metallic area known as the Eskay Rift Belt located in the Golden Triangle, 70km northwest of Stewart, BC. The Company currently holds mineral tenures in this area comprised of 177 claims (130,000 acres)
Two major deposits have been discovered along Eskay’s boarders in the aptly named Golden Triangle. Pretium Resources Inc. (TSE:PVG) to the east commercially began production the summer of 2017 at its BruceJack Mine. Seabridge Gold (TSE:SEA) to the direct east adjoining Eskay, with its KSM project is one of the largest undeveloped gold projects in the world measured by reserves.
The Board has established a strategy of partnering with successful major mining companies to explore and develop its massive area of potential high grade metals.
Eskay entered a joint venture with SSR Mining Inc. (formerly Silver Standard Resources Inc.) (“SSR Mining”) to explore the SIB property. SSR has an option to earn up to a 60% undivided interest in the 4,400-hectare SIB property by spending an aggregate of $11.7 million in exploration expenditures over three years. This represents less than less than 9% of our total land holdings. The J.V. is targeting precious metal enriched massive sulphide deposits with its’ 2017 drill program of 6,000 – 9,000 metres on the SIB property in northwestern British Columbia. Drilling is 4 km from Barrick Gold’s former producing Eskay Creek Mine, which was North America’s highest grade gold producer between 1994 and 2008. This mine produced over 3 million ounces of gold and nearly 160 million ounces of silver from 2.2 million tonnes of ore.
Eskay did limited deep drilling of the area in 2008 and 2010 and found similar volcanic and volcano-sedimentary host rocks that are considered distinctive Eskay rhyolite. Results from drilling conducted in 2008 and 2010 included an intersection of 25.2 meters at a grade of 2.13 g/t gold, 4.0 g/t silver, 0.174% zinc and 0.124% lead. 4 at 488 meters depth along the footwall of the Coulter Creek thrust fault. The footwall stratigraphy, until 2017 remained untested except for the 6 holes drilled by Eskay previously under the fault. A 4 kilometer stretch along the footwall is the primary target of the 2017 program. Recent press releases outline the success of 2017 S.I.B. drilling program. Drilling has successfully identified the target Eskay Creek assemblage stratigraphy beneath the Coulter Creek trust fault over 1 km.
