For GoBlue vs StarSearcher I have 2 analogies for GoBlue2016 to respond to Starsearcher because I did read the starsearcher posts on the WEED board in response to the wonderful GoBlue analysis of the upcoming WEED financials on Nov 14.
The MARATHON
The runners in a 42.2 km marathon start together and there is inevitably a “rabbit” or one that sprints and uses up the stored glycogen at an alarming rate and goes in to “oxygen debt”. He does not care as he leads the pack and is on TV as the leader and the spectators only recognize and cheer the leader. He is so confident of victory that he does not even stop to take a drink of Gatorade” to replenish his “glucose burn”. He figures “it does not matter as long as I can be the leader.
The others in the back are proceeding cautiously and prudently conserving the glycogen and stopping to replenish with fresh oranges and juice and still slowly covering the distance.
In variably at the 20 mile point the rabbit is exposed when he runs into “the wall”
having consumed all his reserves and now he limps along as the others all pass him fresh and with adequate reserves having been wise to take many drinks of glycogen along the way. WEED the rabbit now realizes how a marathon should be run and the early spectators are disappointed having put their bets on the early “rabbit.”
THE PATIENT
Two very young patients both went to doctor for their annual check ups. They both said “Hey doc next year I plan to be in a marathon race and I am training every day”.
Well that is an admirable goal and I know you can use your “binoculars” to look ahead to the race but let me take at look at your blood sample (microscope).
One patient (APH) had normal red and white blood cells – the red to carry oxygen to give producing cells the needed energy (cash) and the white one to defend against infections (expenses).
Upon histology microscopic analysis it was discovered that he other patient (WEED) had a deficiency of both red and white cells and so the doctor advised against the future goal of running a rigorous marathon with such deficiencies.
He replied “It’s OK, Doc I jut got a 1,000 milliliters of blood from a donor and next year he will give me 1,000 more as long as he gets to put his name on my shirt and take most of my earnings if I win.
