Palladium was the best performing comodity in 2017. It's unfortunate the debt held by North American Palladium was an ongoing problem and owed to Brookfeild asset management. If you are still following PALDF you would be familiar with the expansion of their resources, which is benificial to BAM. To little too late....
Platinum Group Metals is not in the same boat. They have made a lesser of two evils decision by trying to minimize debt and hopefully will get some market realization for waterberg. I am not happy with how Maseve turned out, but I believe the jurisdiction is not being kind to them.
Lets face it, Zuma probably should have had the no confidance vote, especially with his ties to the Gupta family. The original contractors who held ties to the Gupta Group basically turned maseve into a standoff. This we can blame on management for having too much faith in thier contractors.
The deal for Maseve hasn't gone through yet. If Jones is as good a geologist as we hoped, maybe we could see another bully bid for maseve? I know, it's a long shot.
The point is, I don't feel like we are in the dire situation that PDL was in when it had the 1:400 split, not at the moment.
