why did investors suddenly turn positive on qnc

Theres an old saying that nobody arises from bed and decides to make a purchase on something with no news or with which he is unfamiliar. So may question is; why did people decide to buy in a big way today with no news? To say, oh because its cheap doesn't cut it unless someone told them it was cheap and to buy. If patents arn't going to be approved for a while, something else must be up, right or wrong?
