RE:RE:RE:RE:Aimia and BlockchainWhich existing cryptocurrency will the Aeroplan members be able to trade their points for?? BitCoin? GoldMoney (XAU.TO)? The Russian Ruble Cryptocurrency?
There are many other cryptocurrencies but most will fail for a variety of reasons such as lack of brand recognition, lack of creditibilty as a financial services provider etc.
Now that Aimia and Aeroplan have been unchained from Air Canada, the world is Aimia’s oyster in terms of new opportunities and moving forward with disruptive new technologies that are on the horizon.

However, being able to trade points for a certain cryptocurrency could be interesting.

As you said, aeroplan points could be a cryptocurency which can be traded?
And why would Aimia want that?
Allowing for the trading of points would decrease the number that are never redeemed, thereby increasing the costs of rewards and decreasing cash flow and profits.
Highly unlikely scenario. I never say never, but this is as close as it gets.
