Orocobre Shares Rise To Record On Promising Sample Results At Argentina Lithium Project

12:32 PM EST, 11/08/2017 (MT Newswires) -- Ococobre (ORL.TO) shares rose as much as 2.7% to their highest ever on Wednesday after the Australian miner's partner in the Cauchari lithium project in Argentina released sampling results from a previously untested northwest section of the property showed high grades of the metal.

Advantage Lithium said in a release that two brine samples from the site contained 635 milligrams of lithium per litre in one and 619 milligrams per litre in a second, with potassium levels in both samples above 4,700 milligrams per litre.

In addition, drilling showed extensive sandy sediments with high porosity and permeability, making the geology attractive for brine extraction, Advantage said. Further drilling at the site is planned.

Orocobre holds a 35% interest in Cauchari. Its Toronto Stock Exchange shares rose $0.14, or 2.5%, to $5.74 at last look after touching $5.75 in earlier trading, the highest since the shares were listed in June 2010.
