market share

market shareHere's another piece in the Glencore puzzle....er machine:  According to the WSJ in March 2017 Glencore was the world's biggest miner of zinc with 8 % share (before accounting for any Trevali or other deals that closed since then), and through its commodities branch controlled a shocking and remarkable 50% of finished metal sales in the world, also before recent changes. So Glencore has much more impact on "market terms" when they have their little chats with Noranda, than meets the eye. In fact it seems poor lil Noranda really has nowhere else to go for help, unless to the Chinese. Would a Chinese company bid for Noranda? I can't say...why would they want to? So Glencore is really throwing its weight around in our little orange juice stand. All guesses about what's going to happen go out the window, unless we could get inside a few Swiss heads. Glencore have a rep for being (insert libellous phrase here). GLTA WAGTNI (we are going to need it).
