RE:RE:RE:RE:***Thoughts & Analysis***Mole101, your naive if you think that doing business in corrupt african countries is a squeaky clean endeavour.   I dont know how corruption and bribery became the standard, but it is at all levels of every organization.  I absolutely despise the way business is done , but it is what is.  As a foreign company trying to do business in an african country, you gotta soend alot of time appeasing the powerful people in the country, which takes time and money that can be used to run your business they way as efficient as possible.  You here reports of foreign companies stealing from the people of the nation, its because the organization is trying to compensate for the big boss of that nation taking a huge chunk of the revenue in exchange for allowing your organixation to do business there.

The problem with katanga is, they got caught.  They couldnt keep their operations clean enough to appease the western government and financial governing bodies.  This will blow over.  Malpractise for resource companies in third world countries is old news.  Katanga and glencore will not be first and will not be the last.  This will pass.  Its always darkest before the sun rises.
