There are a lot of different reasons for window dressing usually tax related or portfolio balancing from one fund to another or locking in profits however it generally means the portfolio manager can bring the stock to the level he wants providing it is not an unreasonable adjustment. For now it would appear the shorts are getting a chance to cover and the managers are placing their stock. Nothing unusual for this time of the year.
