RE:Post Media and Globe and Mail

RE:Post Media and Globe and MailAgree something very odd is going on with Postmedia shares.  Huge volumes and a big spike in price.  A real head scratcher as volumes and interest in Postmedia has been tepid for a long time.  Maybe Fairfax is planning to buy both Torstar and Postmedia and create a national media company with complete product rationalization and more investment in creating better news organizations like Bezos at The Washington Post.  This would be good news for all concerned as the bandits from Hollinger, to Osprey, to SunMedia and now Postmedia have ravaged these once proud newspaper companies.  Torstar has only been complicit by virtue of incompetence, not naked greed.

The Torstar share price is also puzzling, but it is moving in the right direction.  Frustratingly slow, but it gives many the opportunity to pick them up at still bargain prices.  It would have been nice to see Torstar shares increase by 200%, but the patient will be rewarded.
