This is true of every resource. We as a planet are running out of large scale high quality ores. Thanks for your input Ausheds. You told us. Business as usual? The planet can't bare it. You are hopelessly stuck in an old paradigm. Is everything you are saying true in the short term. Yes.
I believe in a future where we don't have to rip mountains asunder, dredge ocean floors, or destroy the planet as the worlds ever growing population gains affluence. I will put my money where my mouth is. The world is writing a cheque that it can't cash doing things as it has done for three hundred years. It is time to start mining the ash piles, and trash heaps.
If the prices of resources actually included their environmental impact then the choice of MRT is clear.
