Crude – you are absolutely correct.  And those making the decisions need look no further than western Canada where +250,000 wells have been fracked with no incidents.  The whole fracking debate is a hoax to scare people into resisting oil and gas development, and “studies” are a stalling tactic.  The way forward, as you mentioned, is to educate the decision makers (if they don’t already know) and have those in power to do what is best for the province, and not what is perceived to be politically popular.  Whoever can get this development moving politically will be a provincial hero.  Hopefully NL will come around, now that Quebec is back to fracking, the west continues to frack, and New Brunswick is considering (partially) rescinding now that they realize their political stand has needlessly harmed their economy.
