Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

What has shoppers/loblaws done towards becoming an LP?

What has shoppers/loblaws done towards becoming an LP?To become a cultivator, let alone a seller, of cannabis you need to jump over many hurdles set out by Health Canada? What exactly has shoppers/loblaws done to achieve their goal? I have yet to hear word one on their progress to becoming an LP.

The process is long and can takes 18 - 24 months to complete all requirements before a license to sell is granted and they have not even begun the process. There are hundreds of companies trying to get through the ACMPR process, and Shoppers/loblaws is but one of them.  A final license to sell is years away.

Health Canada Licensing Requirements

"All aspects of an application are subject to ongoing review based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to receipt of updated information, new developments, the result of subsequent reviews of the application, etc. Applicants should not assume the adequacy of any part of their application based on their stage in the application process."
