Aphria Inc. APHA

Aphria, which is headquartered in Ontario, produces and sells medicinal and recreational cannabis. The company operates through retail and wholesale channels in Canada and internationally. Aphria is a main distributor of medical cannabis to Germany and has operations in over 10 countries outside of Canada. However, it does not have exposure to the U.S. CBD or THC markets due to the constraints of federal prohibition. It has some U.S. exposure through the acquisition of SweetWater, a craft brewer

Loblaws and SDM about to enter Recreational Market???

Loblaws and SDM about to enter Recreational Market???The way I look at it, the Aphria / SDM deal is a soft sell of Loblaws bigger objecive which is to sell recreational cannabis in all their stores.

Nothing stopping Loblaws or Shoppers from applying for a license to sell recreational cannabis in provinces that will allow private retail sales.  It is all about foot traffic and increasing revenue.  Guaranteed they have their eye on the holy grail of cannabis which is the recreational market.

It's only a matter of time before Loblaws & Shoppers convinces the province of Ontario to allow them to sell recreational cannabis in their stores.  It won't happen for a number of years but i'm sure its being discussed at the boardroom level and noted as a long term objective.
