RE:Just get on with it Fairfax! Dear Mediawatcher
I would like to add a couple additional points to your thoughtful missive:
Positive Technicals
As previously mentioned earlier this month, the Torstar 40 day moving average is now only a few cents below its 200 day moving average and when the 40 day turns up thru the 200 day moving average in the next couple of weeks, this SHOULD provide support for the stock as it did last December.
Postmedia Networks
The recent incredible strength of Postmedia Network's stock price should eventually provide support Torstar's price if someone figures out if there is any connection to Torstar.
Go Private Price
If Torstar does go private, the price should be a function of Torstar's closing price on the day of the announcement, from everything I have read. That is, the higher the price pre announcement the higher the take out price - plain and simple.
Which Side Are We On - Bull or Bear?
From what I have read, most of you that have posted on this bullboard believe Torstar will eventually go private, so I do not understand why there is not more volume and breadth of buying. Buyers seem be concentrate to a few brokers.
Apparently there is another group who DO NOT share our view that Torstar will go private, do not believe the intrinsic value of the company is higher that its current value, or believe Boynton can make the company profitable, as they continue to be on the best price offer, fighting the up-trend. I guess that's what makes a market! Bulls and Bears. I hope the Bulls win out...
