New head of Pemex to Accelerate Energy ReformNew Pemex CEO appointed MEXICO CITY, November 28, 2017 Mexican President Enrique Pea Nieto on Monday appointed Carlos Alberto Trevio Medina as the CEO of state-owned Pemex. Trevio Medina replaced Jos Antonio Gonzalez Anaya, who became Mexicos new Secretary of Finance and Public Credit following the resignation of Jos Antonio Meade from the post to run for president in the countrys July 2018 general elections. According to a Pemex statement, Trevio Medina will concentrate on his responsibility to consolidate Pemexs finances and accelerate the implementation of the [energy] reform, while working towards other objectives including modernisation programmes, increased production and making the NOC more competitive. Trevio Medina began working at Pemex in 2010 and has held the position of corporate director of management and services since March 2016. Gonzalez Anaya, who headed the NOC for less than two years, already has experience working in the Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit, most recently from 2006-2012, when he was undersecretary of income.
