RE:RE:RE:RE:Taxes regarding short position coveringCorrect me if I'm wrong but it would then mean if it's treated as income,  you would  have to pay taxes on the whole gain, not just 1/2. More reason to wait if you can.
On the flip side I would think the hedge funds would want to trgger the gain now to show up on this year"s performance, as well as bonuses.
