RE:Media Spin

RE:Media SpinYou are the Lead CLOWN in the circus.

starsearcher40 wrote: People, you need to differentiate between "what Trudeau may have meant" and how the media spins it.  So let's go with the positive here...that Trudeau just didn't like it to be specifically on Canada Day.  So with that, we would expect to see headlines that say something like, "Trudeau wants to avoid Canada Day specirically for legalization."  Clear message.  Clear headline.

But that is NOT what happened.

So now you've got media spinning it in a different direction.

Look at these headlines:

1)  Toronto Star:   Date for legalized pot is ‘next summer’ — not July 1, Trudeau says

2)  Montreal Gazette:  "
Trudeau seems to back away from July 1 deadline for legal cannabis"

3)CTV News:
Trudeau says cannabis will become legal 'next summer,' not July 1

4) Global News:
Richmond mayor cheers as Trudeau’s July 1 pot deadline goes up in smoke

5) Bloomberg:
Trudeau Sees Pot Legalized by Summer as Law Sits in Senate

AND

Canada’s pot czar won’t speculate on holding to July 1 target

Do you see my point here?  We can "think" what Trudeau might have meant all we want.  But the media spin
can do damaage,  I'm on your side folks.  Truly.  But I can't believe there aren't others

a) Pissed off at this gaff.
b) Pissed off that it hasn't been immediately and loudly corrected by Trudeau......which makes me hedgy that maybe it
wasn't a gaff, but a planned balloon.  If it was just a gaff, there is certainly enough confused press out there now that they
would have recognized the "wrong message" being out there in the press, and corrected it.  ......but they haven't.

Ok, I've said my piece.  I've given the reason for my thoughts.  My BIGGEST point is that things like this DO affect
the market, and THAT I don't like.
