A new airplane's business cycle can be 40 years......

A new airplane's business cycle can be 40 years......As a longtime shareholder of Bombardier I want to make money as much as the next guy. Many have been trading in and out of the stock and it has attracted a lot of big and small speculators either long or short the stock.

From discussions with industry people over the years, it seems very clear that it nearly always takes about a decade from project stage to conception to build and develop an all new design and, by the time certification is done with, another few years have gone by. Whether its Bombardier, Embraer, Boeing or Airbus, the lenght of such projects is such that by the time any money really starts coming in the company's coffers and actually be profitable is a 15 year time frame.

We are just not there yet!
