It's simple.... if there are a lot of shares up for sale at a certain price or range with less up for sale after that price, then the resistance is the high price.

ex.  200,000 shares for sale at 2.10.  20,000 for sale at 2.11, 15,000 for sale at 2.12, etc.  The resitance is at 2.10 since there are a lot more shares for sale at that price.

Once the large chunk of shares have been bought or removed from sale, then the resistance (wall) is gone an then smaller amounts of volume can bring the share price up even faster... until another large number of shares are put up for sale at a new price creating some new resistance for upward movement.
