RE:RE:Al Gore: bitter cold is to be expected from climate crisis Agreed. It doesn't matter what your political position is, to deny climate change in this day and age despite the overwhelming scientific evidence is as silly as still believing the earth to be flat. If you think your lived experience and a couple of freak winters somehow disproves climate change, then there's not much else to say.
Not here to judge, most people just can't see past their own selfish lives. Myself included. And those that can, probably don't do enough to change their life styles in any material way to help.

Increasing CO2 traps more solar energy, energy which is forced into global climate. Climate is a dynamical system. With increased energy, most dynamical systems will demonstrate (1) increased measures of instantaneous potential (temperature in this case), and (2) increased absolute measures of extremes. Hotter hots, colder colds.
You can accept the science and still 'not care'. There is no need to deny the science ... just admit that you do not care, and any psychological dissonance evaporates immediately. Say it with me now: "Global warming is happening, humans are making it worse, and I simply do not care." There. I feel better every time I say that, and you will too. The truth will set you free.
