Your claim about California and New York and Illinois is so flagrantly off base that it is beyond laughable.

1  California is the fastest growing state in the USA
2  New York is the fourth fastest growing state
3  Illinois is the sixth fastest-growing state.

Numerous of the blue states are virtually stagnant ( through no fault of their own)
